Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Infoblox Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DNS architecture, particularly with Infoblox products. This role involves conducting detailed DNS assessments and providing comprehensive evaluations and recommendations based on DNS documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Design Assessment
Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the DNS design.
Provide a scale for evaluation and justify the reasons behind the assessment.
Stability Assessment
Compare the stability of the current DNS infrastructure with the expected state.
Lifecycle and Methodology Suggestions
Recommend hardware replacements and suggest appropriate platforms.
Propose software upgrades and suggest the most suitable versions.
DNS Vendor Product Assessment
Compare the current DNS provider (Infoblox) with others in the general market.
Monitoring and Observability Assessment
Recommend improvements to enhance monitoring and observability.
Migration Strategy
Develop a detailed plan for migrating the DNS infrastructure, ensuring continuity of service.
Documentation Required for the Assessment
Lifecycle Information :
Hardware and software levels.
DNS Design :
Design details of caching, primary, secondary, etc., throughout the infrastructure.
Outage Information :
Any COE or RCA information found during the review.
DNS Architecture Diagrams :
Overall DNS hierarchy design.
Specific environment design (prioritized) : Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Legacy Data Center, Store, Distribution Center, Campus.
Monitoring, Alerting, and Network Observability Documentation :
Information on monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and network observability for DNS traffic (vNet logging & flow).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Infoblox Architect or in a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Infoblox products and DNS systems.
- Familiarity with DNS vendor products and market comparisons.
- Advanced experience / knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and IP Address Management (IPAM).
- Experience / knowledge of Infoblox DDI platform.
- Strong understanding of TCP / IP Networking, including the OSI Model.
- Experience with diagnosing DDI and network problems using tools such as Wireshark and other approved diagnostic tools.
- Experience with network performance tools, both hardware and software.
- Experience with network security remediation and associated implications.
- Experience with deploying and supporting Anycast DNS.
- Knowledge of network dynamic routing protocols : Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
- Experience with Cisco Systems products (routers and switches).
- Experience with Windows DNS Services Platforms.
