Job Summary :
The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining a professional image while on the road. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving experience, a solid understanding of safety regulations, and the ability to navigate various driving challenges. The role includes operating a truck, inspecting vehicles for safety and mechanical issues, and ensuring all required documentation is completed and submitted accurately.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods safely and efficiently.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns, performing preventative maintenance when needed.
- Follow traffic laws and safety regulations at all times, including adherence to rest period requirements, weight limits, and route designations.
- Document and log work / rest periods and miles driven, retaining all necessary receipts (fuel, tolls, meals, hotels).
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet established schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and truck driving rules, such as parking and break periods.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly and accurately.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and colleagues.
- Adapt to unforeseen situations, such as traffic and weather conditions.
- Represent the company in a professional manner while on the road.
- Submit to background and drug tests and provide employment references.
