What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter position at Computer Aid, Inc.(CAI)?
We are looking for a Drafter will play a vital role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing teams by creating precise and detailed drawings, ensuring design integrity, and maintaining meticulous documentation. This position will be a full-time 12 month contract and on-site.
What You'll Do
- Create, revise, and maintain detailed technical drawings and schematics using SolidWorks
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate concepts into accurate drawings
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and project requirements
- Manage and organize drawing files, records, and related documentation in a systematic and accessible manner
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes
- Support design reviews, quality checks, and production processes by providing accurate and timely drawings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time
What You'll Need
Required:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is required
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a drafting role, preferably within the aerospace, defense, or marine industries, is a plus
- Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes is highly desirable
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
