We are looking for a Sandblast Operator to operate a wide variety of sandblasting machines. This position will be a full-time 8 month contract and on-site. 2nd shift Mon-Thurs 4:30pm-3am.

What You'll Do

  • Operates a wide variety of Sandblasting machines
  • Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner, which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
  • Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions
  • Evaluates job performance compared to established production and quality standards
  • Makes suggestions to design new fixtures and for improvements to processes to enhance operations
  • Maintains files for set-up procedures and required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications
  • Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices
  • Lubricates and cleans machines as necessary
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices
  • Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable
  • Keeps Operations Manager informed of job related problems and other information related to work activity
  • Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
  • Performs multiple operations as required
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments
  • 6 months to 2 years of Sandblasting experience in a job shop environment or related experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Willing to learn; acceptable to training
  • Steel Toe Shoes required
  • PPE will be provided

Preferred:

  • Microscope use

Physical Demands

  • Employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach, balance, stoop, talk, hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

Pay: $18.00 - $19.80 per hour

  • Evening shift
