What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sandblast Operator position at Computer Aid, Inc.(CAI)?
We are looking for a Sandblast Operator to operate a wide variety of sandblasting machines. This position will be a full-time 8 month contract and on-site. 2nd shift Mon-Thurs 4:30pm-3am.
What You'll Do
- Operates a wide variety of Sandblasting machines
- Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner, which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards
- Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
- Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions
- Evaluates job performance compared to established production and quality standards
- Makes suggestions to design new fixtures and for improvements to processes to enhance operations
- Maintains files for set-up procedures and required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications
- Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices
- Lubricates and cleans machines as necessary
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices
- Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable
- Keeps Operations Manager informed of job related problems and other information related to work activity
- Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
- Performs multiple operations as required
- Performs related work as apparent or assigned
What You'll Need
Required:
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments
- 6 months to 2 years of Sandblasting experience in a job shop environment or related experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
- Willing to learn; acceptable to training
- Steel Toe Shoes required
- PPE will be provided
Preferred:
- Microscope use
Physical Demands
- Employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach, balance, stoop, talk, hear.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
