Scope of the Project:
The Child Support Services Applications Team is part of the Department of Social Services (DSS) and is responsible for developing and maintaining applications in support of the Child Support Services Division (CSSD) including PACSS (Palmetto Automated Child Support System), SDNH (State Directory of New Hires) and the client portal application.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
- Testers report to the Testing Manager to monitor and support the execution of all testing phases related to system development. This position will support the operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the Palmetto Automated Child Support System (PACSS).
- Work with the State’s Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Business Analysts to develop and execute test scenarios/test cases and test scripts.
- Review design documents and test functionality for defect resolutions and new enhancements based on approved design.
- Prepare test data, including interface data files as needed, for executing test scripts.
- Assist functional team by providing test results on requested functionality.
- Report defects to state test lead. · Participate in functional design sessions.
- Perform regression tests manually and/or using Selenium.
- Reproduce defects/demonstrate defects to development as needed.
- Participate in Help Desk and defect triage meetings as needed.
- Provide data analysis and root cause analysis for bugs and enhancements as needed.
- Query and monitor production data after each release.
- Participate in monitoring and reporting on the execution of the System Development Contractor’s performance under the PACSS O&M contract as it relates to all testing phases.
- Create and monitor appropriate metrics and reports for the PACSS O&M effort.
- Run batch jobs to support testing activities in CA tool.
Required Skills
- 2 years of experience working on child support related software project(s)
- 5 years of experience preparing, documenting, and executing test criteria, test cases, test scripts, and test plans for IT systems projects
- Thorough knowledge of testing concepts such as component, integration, security, performance, regression and acceptance testing
- Experience testing back-end batch processes and able to verify/handle the output data files
- Proficient in querying data using SQL Server
- Analyze and validate system requirements and functionality
- Ability to identify, interpret and translate business process training for appropriate audiences
- Extensive experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), MS Office, Visio and SharePoint
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong ability to communicate (orally and written) with project staff, stakeholders and executives
- Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Agile or iterative software methodology
- Experience with developing test scripts with Selenium
- A strong understanding of the basics of financial operations, from receipts to disbursements to reconciliation
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate strong ability to take initiative and ability to work with minimal to no guidance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
