Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements, enabling the design and development of high-quality technical solutions. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and implement software applications, ensuring they are aligned with business and IT strategies, while adhering to organizational architectural standards.
The Automation Engineer will play a crucial role in the full systems life cycle, including coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of application software, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. The role may also involve participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and making recommendations for buy-versus-build decisions.
In addition, you will be responsible for recommending new code development or reuse of existing code and ensuring the overall quality of the systems. The role requires experience in systems analysis, design, and a strong understanding of development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business analysts, customers, and team members to understand business requirements and design technical solutions.
- Develop, test, and implement automated test scripts using Cypress and Cucumber.
- Maintain and support application software, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Participate in design and architecture reviews, ensuring solutions meet technical requirements and adhere to organizational standards.
- Write automated tests and scripts across multiple frameworks and technologies.
- Use AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Analyze system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Contribute to the evaluation of third-party products and make recommendations regarding build vs. buy decisions.
- Ensure all solutions follow best practices in automation, coding standards, and quality assurance methodologies.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience in automation engineering, including hands-on experience with Cypress, Cucumber, and JavaScript.
- Proven ability to write automated tests and work with multiple testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with GitHub and its associated commands for version control.
- Strong experience with automation performance and stress testing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Solid understanding of systems analysis, design, and development methodologies.
- Experience in quality assurance, integration, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
