Java Architect

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Architect to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA, on a hybrid W2 contract basis. This role requires three days onsite each week and is expected to run through the end of the year, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time position. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in the banking or financial industry, as these industries’ specific requirements and challenges will play a significant role in the architecture and design processes.

As a Java Architect, you will be responsible for working closely with cross-functional technical teams to design and develop both new and enhanced software solutions. You will engage in the creation of proofs of concept (POCs) when necessary, assisting in navigating the architectural processes and ensuring the alignment of solutions with business and technical requirements. A critical aspect of your role will involve collaborating with different architectural committees, presenting solutions, and ensuring that all designs are rigorously tested and validated through the various approval stages.

The ideal candidate will possess at least six years of experience in Java development, with extensive expertise in J2EE and microservices architecture. Strong knowledge of API development, relational databases, and big data technologies is required. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to the creation of high-quality technical documentation. This includes flow diagrams, process documentation, context diagrams, and high-level design documents that clearly communicate the architecture, functionality, and dependencies of the systems being developed.

Candidates should have a proven track record in building scalable, maintainable, and secure systems in complex environments. You should be capable of producing comprehensive documentation that supports future development and operational efficiency. While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, candidates with substantial experience and a demonstrated ability to drive architectural solutions in fast-paced, technology-driven environments will also be considered.
