Title: Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead
Summary:
Our materials supplier client is seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead to join their team in Southfield, MI. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing their IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and security systems. This role will oversee all transformation activities related to decentralizing IT services, including cloud operations, end-user services, connectivity, and cybersecurity. The position requires leading technical teams in infrastructure transformation projects, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with industry and company-specific standards. Additionally, you must stay updated on emerging technologies and act as a technical expert within the organization. The ideal candidate is an excellent leader with experience managing staff across various disciplines to deliver results efficiently. This position requires working in a project environment, often collaborating globally to implement solutions effectively.

Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead Responsibilities (60%)
- Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a long-term infrastructure strategy aligned with business goals, including cloud adoption, capacity planning, and technology roadmaps.
- Design end-to-end tenant migration approaches, leveraging knowledge from cross-functional IT teams.
- Evaluate new technologies and vendors to identify potential infrastructure improvements.
- Conduct cost analysis and budget planning for infrastructure projects.
- Technical Leadership
- Lead a team of infrastructure engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee all technical aspects of migrating data to a new Azure tenant, including migration strategy design, implementation oversight, technical workstream management, and ensuring a smooth transition while adhering to security and compliance standards.
- Develop comprehensive migration plans, including timelines, dependencies, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, business, and various partners to align on migration strategy.
- Design and implement complex infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Manage infrastructure changes, including upgrades, migrations, and patching.
- Operations and Maintenance
- Monitor infrastructure performance, identifying and proactively troubleshooting issues.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools to track system health and detect potential problems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure components and processes.
- Security and Compliance
- Ensure infrastructure adheres to security best practices and compliance regulations.
- Work with technical experts to implement security controls and monitoring systems to protect sensitive data.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
- Collaborate with the IT leadership team to develop and execute long-term infrastructure strategies.
- Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of technical solutions.
- Evaluate new technologies and vendors to identify potential infrastructure improvements.

- Travel required - approximately 15%.
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, MS-102.
- 7 years in Infrastructure technical leadership.
- 5 years in Infrastructure architecture and design.
- 3 years in Technical project management.
- 3 years in Microsoft 365.
- 3 years in ServiceNow.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, including networking, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud computing.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including tenant setup, tenant-to-tenant migration, Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC), Azure migration, Entra ID, and Azure networking.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft licensing programs and practices.
- Strong knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and governance.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell for task automation.
- Experience with Microsoft migration tools (e.g., BitTitan, etc.).
- Understanding of project management techniques and methods.
- Proficiency in MS Office and O365 applications.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
- Experience managing distributed or remote teams.
