Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for an Advanced Cloud DevOps and Platform Engineer to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
Clearance Requirements: Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As an Advanced Cloud DevOps and Platform Engineer, you will:
- Develop, evolve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines: Automating integration and deployment processes to ensure smooth and frequent releases by project teams (ie. GitLab CI).
- Infrastructure management: Automating and managing the infrastructure provisioning and configuration to support scalability and reliability (ie. Terraform, Ansible).
- Ensuring security integration: Implementing security automated measures at every stage of the software development lifecycle to prevent vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration: Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility.
- Scripting and coding: Writing scripts and code to automate processes and integrate various systems and tools (ie. Python, Terraform ,Ansible).
- Continuous improvement: Continuously looking for ways to improve processes, tooling, and the overall system performance and security.
- Driving cloud solutions to realize benefits: Leverage cloud (ie. AWS/Azure GovCloud) for increased workflow efficiencies and realized scalable virtualized test environments. (ie. digital twins)

- Experience working with, or are familiar with the differences between, public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
- Container technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes
- Deployment of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef
- Experience maintaining production-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation
- Creation of pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configuration
- Effective communication and attention to detail
Other beneficial experience:
- IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, or security hardening, and auditing
- Installation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO
- Management of Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services, and/or Azure
- Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift
- Cloud automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer
- Open source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (such as RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)
