Overview
CTG is seeking to fill an Electrical Planner III, Nuclear opening for our client in Richland, WA.
Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months
Plan and prepare electrical work packages for the Nuclear Projects organization, covering both large- and small-scale projects. These projects will be executed by electrical and contract maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
Develop and prepare work instructions that provide direction for electrical and contract maintenance teams in project implementation and modifications. Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for all materials necessary for work package execution.
Conduct field walkdowns to assess maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities, providing input for refining and improving work package quality. Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering teams to resolve work package issues.
Identify and define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required for planned work packages. Facilitate package preparation by coordinating RWPs, plant barrier impairments, fire impairments, Operability impact statements, ALARA task outlines, Regulatory/Code documentation, Quality hold/witness points, and other required approvals.
Verify that work instructions comply with all applicable station procedures, including NEC codes and standards. Approve and review all required work packages to ensure safety, high quality, technical accuracy, and 10CFR50.59 screening or evaluation (if required).
Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to enhance work package development, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and follow vendor recommendations for maintenance direction.
Provide project management oversight for system planners or contractors to develop detailed elements of package preparation.
Participate in work control and scheduling meetings, planning feedback sessions, detailed contract requisition reviews, complex troubleshooting, maintenance risk assessments, clearance order reviews, planner peer reviews, and system interaction reviews to support process improvements and ensure project success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in computer applications and tools.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to obtain Planner I qualification.
Working knowledge of:
Nuclear power plant work management and planning processes.
Safety regulations related to power plant environments.
ALARA requirements.
Nuclear Security operations, regulations, and requirements.
A minimum of six years of experience in a technical field (i.e., maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning) with a bachelor’s degree OR
Eight years of experience in a technical field with an associate’s degree OR
Technical training or education equivalent to an in-grade apprenticeship program for maintenance-related work, along with six years of experience in a technical field OR
A high school diploma or GED and ten years of experience in a technical field.
Education from an accredited college or university may be considered year-for-year in exchange for work experience.
Two years of experience in a nuclear environment is highly desired but not required.
Bachelor’s, associate’s, or high school diploma/GED with relevant technical training and experience as outlined above.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to improve plant and equipment reliability.
Ability to meet both short- and long-term commitments to internal and external customers.
Strong relationship-building skills with customers and colleagues.
Understanding of business operations to support informed decision-making.
Ability to set clear and challenging goals and track performance using key metrics.
Proficiency in technical report writing and trend analysis.
Ability to improve processes by simplifying workflows and increasing efficiency.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00/hour to $81/hour. Salary offers are based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market conditions, and any applicable licensure or certifications. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
