Camera & Access Control Systems Installer

Computer Ties is seeking a full-time Camera & Access Control Systems Installer to join our team. This role focuses on installing, configuring, and maintaining access control and camera systems for a wide range of clients, including residential and commercial locations. We are looking for a self-starter who is mechanically inclined, excels at customer relations, and has experience in sales or client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain camera and access control systems.
• Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality.
• Run and terminate cabling for access control and camera systems.
• Conduct site surveys to determine system placement and compatibility.
• Customize solutions to meet client needs and provide recommendations to improve security.
• Train clients on system usage and provide ongoing technical support.
• Document all installations, configurations, and system upgrades accurately.
• Ensure compliance with local and national regulations for access control and camera systems.
• Identify opportunities to upsell products and services, providing tailored solutions to meet client goals.

Qualities We’re Seeking

• Self-Starter: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Mechanically Inclined: Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and system installations.
• Sales Experience: Skilled at identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Customer Relations: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients.

Work Environment

• Requires lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.
• Work at client locations, including residential and commercial sites.
• May involve working in confined spaces or at heights using ladders or lifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; technical training or certifications are a plus.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with low-voltage cabling and basic networking is preferred.
• Residency in or relocation to Jackson, MI.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in computer networking and LAN.
• Familiarity with manufacturers such as Avigilon, Axis, Brivo, Galaxy, Bosch, Hikvision, and Luxriot is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
