A role you will love
As a Platform Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the operating environment / platform for the Plans business line of applications. You will work within a service management framework of incident, problem, capacity and change. Working closely with the DBA, Dev and Application support teams to deliver an integrated, operational service to the Plans line of business whilst keeping up-to-date documentation of environmental nuances and standard operating procedures. A degree of stakeholder management is required, with the outcome to deliver a best-in-class support service with seamless integration across the globe.
Other Responsibilities include:
Maintain the operating environment / platform for the Plans line of business applications (infrastructure / monitoring / alerting / automation / capacity)
Deploy and configure Plans line of business applications on our platforms
Manage the change process for any work done under our responsibility
Manage incidents for any components falling under our responsibility, including providing on-call support for critical components if required
Manage and liaise with vendors / providers (SW / HW / Hosting / etc.) both internally and externally
Actively drive architecture decisions as well as the lifecycle of platform components
Keep an active knowledge of the network and security infrastructure of our platform and influence decisions towards a high security and resiliency standard
Work closely with the DB, Dev and Application support teams to deliver an integrated operational service to the Plans line of business
Keep an up-to-date documentation of our environment and procedures
To have a basic understanding of programming and can find their way around source code and configuration files
Have a 'DevOps' mindset for the components we are responsible for and be ready to operate what you have created
Configure and support centralized build and deployment infrastructure
Work with development teams to configure CI/CD pipelines
Automate the creation of environments and installation of software
Automate manual, repetitive tasks related to software build, deployment and operations
Escalate risks and issues to the Global Platform Manager as appropriate
Provide regular contributions to team knowledge base, product wikis and support documentation
What will you bring to the role?
Minimum of 3 years of experience with technologies such as Linux, batch management systems (e.g. Control-M), web applications (e.g. Java, Tomcat), MS Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, or equivalent
Technical knowledge of containerisation software for cloud and managing via Kubernetes
Passionate about good customer outcomes and an appreciation of business impacts in order to support and mitigate the risk of change to critical high-availability systems
Good understand of IT compliance, Information security and audit
OS platforms: OpenShift (Kubernetes)/ Linux / Windows /
Middleware: JAVA / Tomcat / Artemis MQ / Nutanix AHV / VMware
Automation: Jenkins / Ansible / Octopus / Bash / PowerShell / Python / (SQL)
Network (understanding): (Reverse) Proxies / DNS / Firewalls

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $105,000 - $120,000per year. This base pay range is specific to these locations (Canton, MA and Jersey City, NJ) and may not be applicable to other locations.
