Position Responsibilities:
- Managing Self-Insured Benefits Programs: Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and make recommendations for adjustments based on market trends.
- Negotiating with External Providers: Collaborate with external providers, such as insurance brokers and retirement plan administrators, to negotiate favorable terms and ensure the efficient delivery of benefits programs.
- Maintenance, review, and evaluation of current/future welfare benefit plans.
- Annual plan testing and audits.
- Reviewing, revising employee handbooks, SPDs etc.
- Coordination with other facilities on corporate standards and directive.
- Working with TPAs.
- Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Submits bi-weekly payroll for processing.
- Responsible for the payment of premiums and administrative fees to benefits vendors.
- Deep knowledge of end-to-end payroll process, ability to identify root cause and corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Maintain employee records including processing of payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Manage/track leave programs including FMLA, STD, and LTD; ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately, on time, and forwarded to the appropriate parties. Track and document all leave hours, certifying that employees receive the proper payout for any leave time.
- Administer benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- System integration and enhancements.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent.
- 5 or more years of extensive experience working with self-funded benefit programs including but not limited to administering and analyzing benefits, retirement plans, base pay compensation, and/or salary/pay analysis.
- 5 years of experience in an analytical role, ideally within finance or compensation
- Experience completing Affirmative Action Plans (AAP), EEOC reporting, OFCCP compliance.
- Knowledge of functional human resources administration and basic principles of human resources reporting methods.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Detail oriented, embraces continuous improvement, focused on data integrity and accuracy.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations.
- Experience with using ADP.
