Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, tractor-trailers, but primarily flatbeds. Home time is flexible based on location. preferred drivers location be from San Antonio to Houston or Dallas area.

CDL Driver (Flatbed Solo to Co-Driver) – American Transport

Position: CDL Driver (Flatbed)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: 25% per load completed

Job Summary:

Comrade Venture LLC is a transportation Owner-Operator company contracted to American Transport. We are based out of San Antonio. We are seeking reliable and experienced CDL drivers for flatbed operations in the southern regions of the US. This position starts as a solo driver with the opportunity to transition into a co-driver role as needed. The truck in use will be a 2020 Kenworth t680. The driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of cargo while maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.

Roles and Responsibilities:Driving & Load Management:

• Operate company-assigned flatbed trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Secure and strap/tarp loads as required to ensure safe transport.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
• Plan routes efficiently and adhere to scheduled deliveries.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company policies regarding Hours of Service (HOS).
• Uniform is not required, but we expect a clean appearance. Steel toe boots are required.

Safety & Compliance:

• Maintain an up-to-date CDL license and medical certification.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety standards.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues immediately.
• Ensure compliance with load weight limits and securement standards.

Communication & Coordination:

• Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch and customers.
• Provide timely updates regarding delays, route changes, or delivery confirmations.
• Work collaboratively with co-drivers when transitioning to a team-based role.

Vehicle Maintenance & Documentation:

• Keep truck clean and in good working order.
• Submit vehicle inspection reports, fuel receipts, and logs as required.( Fuel Card provided to accurately account for fuel receipts and purchases)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date driving logs per DOT regulations. (ELD Inputs)

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year of flatbed driving experience required.
• Ability to lift and secure loads with straps and tarps.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
• Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
