COMSOL is seeking an Applications Engineer: Core Functionalities to join its Applications Department to work with presales and support users of COMSOL® software.As the successful applicant, you are expected to have a well-rounded education within an engineering or scientific discipline, and experience using computer-aided engineering software. With this basis, you will be expected to develop your technical proficiency in new areas as you help COMSOL’s users simulate their future innovations and ideas.Primary Responsibilities
- Support the installation of COMSOL® software for customers on different platforms, such as Windows®, macOS and Linux®.
- Continuously expand your knowledge about the core functionalities of COMSOL to provide front-end support for customers in areas such as geometry editing, meshing, visualization and workflow automation.
- Demonstrate use of the COMSOL® software and summarize its features in web-based workshops and other marketing and sales events, along with customer meetings.
- A willingness and ability to travel for limited periods of time to current and potential customers in order to run COMSOL-sponsored events and activities in North America.
- BS in engineering, physics, applied mathematics or a physical science.
- Experience with software implementation/setup/configuration on Linux using the command line.
- Good communication skills on the phone, in person, and in writing.
- Current eligibility to work in the U.S.; employment-based visa sponsorship will not be offered for this position.
- Knowledge and experience analyzing and designing digital designs; experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks®, Creo Parametric® or similar is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with computing languages commonly used for engineering analysis; efficiency in MATLAB® or similar programming languages is a plus.
- Experience with physics-based engineering simulation software such as COMSOL Multiphysics is a plus.
- Coursework on finite difference, finite element, finite volume or similar numerical methods for solving partial differential equations (PDEs) is a plus.
- Knowledge of HPC and schedulers is a plus.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role is a plus.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
