Comstock Park is seeking candidates who display a strong desire and ability to make an impact on students and the greater community both within and outside of the classroom.
THIS IS A LONG TERM SUB POSITION (EDUSTAFF) FROM FEBRUARY - APRIL 2025. (FULL TIME POSITION 8:25 A.M. - 3:40 P.M.)
SUMMARY:
Assists the teachers in working with At Risk eligible students in intervention/EL activities. Primary focus will be assistance with classrooms at Pine Island.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and/or assists in small group At Risk and EL pupil interventions; tutors At Risk and EL pupils at teacher’s request
- Assists in maintaining positive behavior support programs and other functions
- Assists with set up of interventions and prepare materials for specialized instructional units
- Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, computers, software, etc.
- May escort children to and from various rooms
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Occasional work with At Risk and EL parents and students in the district.
- Work with At Risk and EL families to provide academic support.
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise children in small groups as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree and must meet minimum qualifications as outlined in Appendix B of CPEEA Support Staff Master Agreement to qualify as a Federal and State instructional aide. Spanish speaking or other Language besides Spanish and English a plus!
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to
customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPENSATION: In accordance with the master agreement between Comstock Park Educational Employees Association and the Comstock Park Board of Education. Grant Funded, one year position.
The final candidate for this position will be required (at their cost) to furnish the district with a current Michigan State Police and FBI criminal records LiveScan check prior to our recommendation to hire.
