Cyber Security Engineer

Job Title: Senior Cybersecurity Engineer(Min 10 years)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: Full-time/W2 hourly

Key Responsibilities:

• Help design, configure, and maintain secure network infrastructures (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, etc.).
• Assist in implementing advanced security technologies (Nessus, Tripwire, Splunk) to monitor and defend network boundaries.
• Assist in implementing and managing security solutions such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), endpoint protection, and encryption.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, remediation, and risk analysis.
• Monitor security alerts and incidents, providing real-time response and resolution.
• Collaborate with IT and OT teams to enhance security controls and mitigate risks.
• Document and provide regular reports on system vulnerabilities, compliance, and incidents.
• Assist with security audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement processes.
• Support the implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong background in network security, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with Nessus, Tripwire, and Splunk.
• Knowledge of endpoint protection and firewall configuration.
• Familiarity with cloud security tools and practices.
• Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) security is a plus.
• Knowledge of network protocols, security threats, and mitigation strategies.
• Strong understanding of industry regulations (NERC CIP, etc.).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Good to have: Any of CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security or other relevant security certifications.
