Job Title: Senior BI Data Warehouse analyst

Houston TX 77042 Hybrid (Tuesday Thursday Onsite)
Job Duties: responsible for shaping the data warehouse design of a set of assigned subject areas during a company spin-off. The analyst will serve as the business-facing BI/DW analyst on a cross-disciplinary IT team that also includes data architects, ETL developers, MicroStrategy developers, application development teams, and others; and will work in parallel with several other analysts performing the same tasks for different subject areas. The BI/DW analyst will represent the business when working with the BI team, and represent the BI team when working with the business.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (for the assigned subject areas)
Analyze and document the current design and high-level logic of the existing ETL for the subject area.
Analyze and document the current design and high-level reporting approach of the existing subject area in MicroStrategy, and analyze usage statistics to identify which users will be most impacted.
Leveraging vendor training, internal documentation, and data profiling, become the resident expert of the object model and data design in the assigned subject areas.
Guide business stakeholders in determining their data warehouse requirements to logically segment reports after the company split. Prepare the business for this major disruption to their mature reporting solution by helping them identify options to bifurcate their reports between the two companies moving forward.
Based on business needs, provide significant inputs to data architects for the data model design.
Document business requirements for ETL and MicroStrategy developers as user stories in Jira.
Support the development phase by resolving business questions and blocks quickly.
Work with business and development teams to create a testing strategy; create test scripts for IT testing as well as user acceptance testing (UAT).
Facilitate business UAT.
Work with business stakeholders to define a change enablement plan of end-users, including training, communications, etc.

Enterprise-level data warehousing experience required; Data Vault architecture is a plus
