Purpose :

The Production Buyer / Planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels.

Responsibilities :

• Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system.
• Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity.
• Analyzes assigned programs material requirements and capacity planning.
• Manages inventory levels, schedules, and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
• Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, program managers, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships.
• Strategic sourcing and risk mitigation.
• Resolve issues, focus on on-time delivery, negotiate material costs with suppliers and contractors
• Initiate requests for quotes (RFQ), places POs and select best suppliers-based price, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Maintain Open PO reports, and PO delivery dates.
