Comunilife is looking for an Administrative Assistant for their new program in Jamaica, Queens. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the office administrative functions program including maintaining program and client documentation, answering telephones, and other administrative duties. The Administrative Assistant supports procurement policies and procedures, orders office supplies, and prepares and maintains related program Office reports/records. The Administrative Assistant will be eligible to participate in Comunilife's generous benefits and paid time off package. The salary range for this position is between $15.00 and $15.90 per hour.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages office supply inventory, filing and petty cash
- Updates and maintains resources
- Completes or supports basic functions of bookkeeping and basic accounting
- Maintains electronic database as appropriate
- Handles all incoming and outgoing phone calls, department mail and deliveries
- Greets and provides access to individuals entering the building.
Education and Experience Requirement(s):
- Associate’s Degree in human services or related field
- Two (2) years’ administrative work experience
- Experience with individuals seeking asylum and new immigrant population
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Office and Google product suites
- Ability to perform and manage in a team approach; excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle complex challenges and balance multiple demands on time and attention
- Ability and willingness to perform all duties as workload necessitates
