Comunilife is looking for an experienced Mental Health Counselor to fill an open position in its newest Human Resource Administration (HRA) Bronx congregate program. This program will provide permanent supportive housing and case management services for adults living with HIV/AIDS and chronic medical conditions as well as Young Adults (18-24) aging out of foster care. This position offers a salary range of $45,000-$50,000, with a generous benefit package including health insurance, dental, vision, dependent care, paid time off, 401(k), tuition assistance program and more.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field
- New York State License Master Social Work (LMSW) or New York State License Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC-T or CASAC) a plus
- Knowledge of HRA Congregate Housing Program guidelines
- One (1) to Three (3) years’ Mental Health work experience
- Mental Health service experience with individual and families with living with HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, serious mental illness, and homelessness
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- 5 Day/35 work week Non-Remote Position (In-Office/Some Field Work)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace program/Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with AWARDS, Child and Children Integrated Reporting System (CAIRS), Coordinated Assessment and Placement System (CAPS)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments
- Provide supportive counseling to clients
- Provide mental health services and referrals
- Coordinate and collaborate with mental health providers
- Conduct home visits and maintain face to face contact with clients
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive service plans
- Develop and implement weekly groups for clients
- Completion of required assessment reporting tools and progress notes
- Participate in case conferences, training, workshops and seminars
- Assist in the planning and organizing program recreational activities
- Participates in weekly supervision
