Position Summary:
The Assistant Product Manager for Home and Wellness will support half of the categories in our extensive Home and Wellness portfolio. This includes Men’s and Women’s Electric Grooming, Skincare Devices, Travel and Power Accessories, Cosmetic Mirrors, Therapeutic Devices and more. The Assistant Product Manager will design, develop and manage activities for these products through all stages of the product development journey including consumer insight generation, concepting, validation, manufacturing, testing and launch. They will work with cross-functional teams in both the U.S. and China to ensure successful on-time, high quality launches.
In addition, the Assistant Product Manager will work with all departments within the company to manage their respective product portfolio health and the overall lifecycle of their products. This includes market analysis, consumption tracking, competitive analysis, recommendations for product and content improvement, plus P&L analysis.
Critical skills for success in this role will be organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities; critical thinking and analysis; a pro-active mindset; excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
New Product/Project Management Coordination:
Design/Development
- Market research and analysis to identify consumer trends and competitive activity
- Assist the Senior Director and Managers with all new product projects with the concepting and testing of new products
- Work with Product Managers to develop project plans and manage them to successful product launches
- Partner with Trade Marketing and Sales to design and execute retail channel recommendations
- Liaise with Hong Kong and China offices, factory and engineering regarding new products and project updates as needed (samples, control drawings, pricing, production schedules, etc.)
- Assist the Design/Engineering/Merchandising teams with concept requests, renderings, SLA samples, engineering performance and consumer testing
Portfolio Analysis and Health:
- Coordinate & analyze research requests (product & data), competitive tracking, new technology and current market trends
- Conduct regular shipment and consumption analysis to monitor performance while identifying opportunities and risks for the business
- Support Product Managers in partnering with Operations and Planning to analyze portfolio health
- Assist in preparation for sales/customer meetings to present new products, current program changes, promotional programs
- Coordinate sales samples requests for PR and Sales via the procurement team, Hong Kong and China offices/factory
Additional:
- Follow internal controls and company policies as set by company and job function.
- Contribute to the success of company by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- 1 Years of Business/Marketing/Operations Experience
- Project Management including New Product Development/Innovation, Packaging Design, P&Ls/Cost Review, Supply or Demand Planning
- Strong Communication & Collaboration Skills
- Must be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP, Circana, or Nielsen is a plus
Environmental Factors:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
