What We Are Looking For:
The HR Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy enforcement, employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.
We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Business Partner to join our team in our corporate office in San Diego, 92123 CA. (This position is onsite 5 days a week)
Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Employee Relations:
- Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of associate performance, following up to ensure expectations are met.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Policies:
- Proactively supports the delivery of HR processes.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Partnership:
- Acts as a single point of contact for the Regional VPs, RPMs and associates.
- Builds a strong business relationship with the Regional VPs / RPMs and provide HR guidance when appropriate.
- Assist the Regional VPs / RPMs in bringing best solutions for associates to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to onsite management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Administrative:
- Conduct weekly meetings with respective regions.
- Assist with EEOC and other legal responses.
- Maintain HCM records and compile reports from the database.
- Maintain HR documents in respective database.
Miscellaneous:
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Driving to local sites to meet with onsite staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
- 3 years in a Human Resources is required
- CA employment experience required
- Bi-lingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- PHR or equivalent strongly preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office and knowledge of HRIS type software
- High level of organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Collaborative, “seek first to understand” mindset
- Valid drivers license and auto insurance
