MercuryHub (MH) is looking for a Materials Regulatory Compliance Specialist to provide on-site support for a large automotive OEM in the Ann Arbor, MI area.

About The Position

The Materials Regulatory Compliance Specialist will support the Information Systems department’s Chemical Management Office. Below are the key responsibilities:

  • Surveillance and analysis of critical material or chemical substance related regulation and legislative activity
  • Coordinate the surveillance and broadcast of critical material or chemical substance related legislation and regulation to the business
  • Create and distribute Chemical Regulatory Notices (CRN) or “news alerts” to key internal stakeholders
  • Input regulatory/legislative summaries into internal company software
  • Using various tools, coordinate the tracking of substances being pursued by local and global regulatory or legislative bodies throughout the regulatory/legislative timeline
  • Occasional special projects may be requested, depending on available time

About You

This is what you should possess to be successful in this role:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience working with consumer products industries, especially complex durable goods industries
  • Working knowledge and understanding of global material or chemical substance regulations and legislations which may impact the auto industry
  • Demonstrated analytical and reporting skills, such as issuance of reports to communicate technical matters to stakeholders
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), adobe acrobat
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Problem solver with a customer-first approach and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support on-site
  • Fluency in English; must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future
