Job Summary
The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting multiple areas of the business unit through ensuring the right information is available, to the right team members, at the right time. The successful candidate must be familiar with business functions such as operations, sales, accounting, supply chain, and inventory management. The preferred candidate will have prior experience in analytical roles, be highly articulate, and must be able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization. Previous experience modeling and curating diverse data sets is a plus. Adaptability and a resilient working style are required.
Key Job Responsibilities :
- Identify appropriate sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Supports analytical and technical tools and processes in the Business Intelligence (BI) area, entailing both development and support of BI solutions.
- Collect customer requirements, determine technical issues, and design reports to meet data analysis needs.
- Ensure data accuracy and create ad hoc reports.
- Demonstrate understanding of ETL, data analytics and visualizations and related business processes following established guidelines, processes, and procedure.
- Gather, extract, manipulate, analyze, and model data using analytical and statistical tools. May also be required to support database maintenance and development.
- Ensure that procedures are properly executed and documented, including development and change requests.
- Defines, analyzes, and proposes business solutions based on the business needs.
- Takes business needs / wants and translates those needs into measurable requirements that can be coded, tested, and successfully implemented, and adopted for products / applications.
- Partners with stakeholders to create specifications and identify business requirements for systems and solutions to meet business needs.
- Collaborates with technical delivery and solution engineering teams on the details of technical solutions to validate that the strategic business needs are met.
- Validates and ensures that the proposed solution meets the stakeholders’ needs.
- May lead cross-functional integrated teams to address business and adoption issues (e.g., user experience, data flow, process flow).
- May participate in the development process or other steps of the product lifecycle.
- Conducts completed “standard” business requirements review with stakeholders and documents the acceptance of those requirements.
- Develops, designs and implements training.
- Identifies, develops, and implements the “best practices” processes.
- Demonstrated project management skills – ability to prioritize tasks, focus on critical path elements, then lead team of users to achieve end goal.
