APPLICATION ENGINEER METROLOGY
LOCATION: ST. LOUIS MO
In-office – not remote
Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Applications Engineer role is to implement 3D Measurement Systems, Software Training, Application Studies, Sales Support, and programming. This includes supporting the sales team with pre-sale technical support (time studies, technical sales support with customer meetings, etc.…and executing post-sale implementation of projects that require application support (turn-key execution, programming, etc.) The Application Engineer will also train customers on new installations of more complex equipment.
We specialize in high-end Dimensional Metrology Equipment, including 3D Vision Measurement Systems, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Computerized Tomography (CT), and Portable Scanning Systems.

Provide support to the sales team with pre-sale time studies Provide process simulations for customers Recommend solutions during turnkey projectsWork with vendors during turnkeysSupport sales staff on pre-sale customer visitsOpen communication with customers and managementStays current on the latest industry tools/equipment/methodologiesParticipates in or conducts meetings or conferences on the development of processes with the customerMust be able to meet customer demand requirements for performing visual inspection, print interpretation, and or other product acceptance criteria with or without customer accommodation Exhibit a working knowledge of health and safety, responsible for safety awareness while performing assigned responsibilities CORE COMPETENCIES
Experience with 3D Spatial Awareness environment
Understanding of programming language and macros

Core Experience And Education
5-7 years' experience
Proficient in GD&T, CAD, CMMs, VMM’s, CT Xray, and Dimensional Metrology
Experienced in setting up programs, fixtures, etc., and provide turn-key services to our customers
Able to create time studies on parts based on samples and customer-provided documentation
Understanding probing in macro programs is a plus
Ability to interact positively and professionally with management, customers, prospects, colleagues, and vendors, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment
Self- leadership, interpersonal communication, and relationship-building skills
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet all deadlines
Exhibit a high level of professional conduct, integrity, and accountability
Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using wise judgment that is consistent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel as needed for the role, estimated at 30%
Mental/Physical Requirements
Ability to be on your feet while performing job requirements
Ability to sit for periods depending on the job requirements.
Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding.
Ability to view a computer for periods.
Ability to exert up to 10-20 pounds occasionally.
Ability to balance, reach, and grasp as needed for the job.
Ability to crouch, grasp, and lift products above shoulders to lift boxes and products from the floor properly.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week.
