Material Handler - 3rd Shift

MATERIAL HANDLER - 3rd shift! - Pay Range $16.00- $20.00 per hour ($1.00 per hr shift premium)

Position Summary: Support the manufacturing, production, and shipping/receiving functions through the movement of material by using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) or various alternative equipment.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck to move or load products, materials etc. safely.
• Adhere to all safety specifications including stacking heights, seat belt use, speed limits, signage etc.
• Maintain a high level of awareness when operating a PIT of surroundings to ensure the safety of all associates, product, and equipment..
• Perform battery charging and changes safely, while adhering to the company’s guidelines.
• Stack products and materials in various environments safely.
• Participate in 5S initiatives as required by the facility.
• Perform inventory-related and/or coil hanging functions as needed based on the facilities individual requirements.
• Function as a member of a work team, identify safety and process improvements within the facility.
• Operate banding equipment as required.
• Adhere to tagging specifications.
• Perform Shipping/Receiving related functions including: use of computers, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty effectively. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• 1 or more years of Powered Industrial Truck experience
• Experience with Microsoft Applications (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc).
• Must maintain corrected vision and meet all requirements to operate a PIT as outlined by regulatory commissions'

Job Duties:

• Load and unload trucks
• Move and stack materials
• Keep production lines supplied with empty containers and packaging materials as needed
• General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned
• Follow current good warehousing practice
• Use common warehouse management software
• Receive/process shipments
• Perform proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guidelines and procedures

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous Matereial Handling experience is preferred
• Experience with Hilo’s
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
• Willingness to take direction and work independently when needed
• Must be a team player

Physical Requirements:

• Physical Demands refers to the level and/or duration of physical exertion generally required to perform occupational takes (sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing and pulling).
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear. Perform repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, shoulders and upper body. The employee is regularly required to walk and reach with hands and arms. On occasion the employee will have to reach with hands and arms.
• Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
• Employee is expected to wear the required personal protective equipment when on the production floor.
