What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weblogic & UNIX Administrator position at Concept Plus?
Concept Plus is hiring a mid-level System Administrator as part of a team tasked with the development and sustainment of web database applications for the Defense Health Agency. They will work with other team members (Sr. and Mid-level developers, database administrators, ETL Specialists, business analysts, and testers) to design, develop and implement solutions, document and/or present technical aspects of solutions and support testing and validation of applications. The System Administrator will support continual sustainment and maintenance of the environments to include patching, upgrades, security monitoring and control, and optimization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide WebLogic administration support
- Management and troubleshooting of environments, as needed (related to network, server, certificate, etc)
- Patching, upgrading, developing deployment plans and other maintenance activities
- Optimization of WebLogic applications and instances to support growing user base and interface transactions
- UNIX system administration, specifically IBM AIX, such as log rotation, analysis of access and event transactions, space management, etc.
- Support and management of AWS GovCloud development environments
- Evaluating and applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) and IAVMs in support of a continuous monitoring approach
- Work with development team and customer to derive new requirements as well as implement changes
- Create and update system documentation
- Support continual RMF/Cyber assessments
- Recommend process and technical improvements to continuously improve the posture of the system and efficiencies
Required Qualifications:
- Experience administering WebLogic 12c
- Strong knowledge of WLST scripts, UNIX scripting and automation
- Experience working in an Agile development team and be familiar with Agile methodologies.
- Must understand DoD cyber security requirements and be very familiar with security aspects of maintaining servers and applications (patching, analyzing possible vulnerabilities).
- Should possess very solid experience in system design and management, especially as relates to supporting web applications.
- Strong knowledge in UNIX and Windows especially with IBM AIX.
- Good understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Knowledge of various protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SOAP and REST
- Security certification (may be obtained within 6 months of hire date)
- Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD IT experience preferred
- Experience with configuring SSL: 1- way SSL and 2 - way SSL configuration
- Vulnerability management a plus
- Experience with AWS GovCloud management and migrations a plus
