Description
Concept Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator Manager (Sys Admin). The Lead Sys Admin will provide direction for a four person team of Sys Admins supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Command, Control, and Communications (C3). C3 is responsible for ensuring FAA managers have daily situational awareness and continuity of communications in an emergency. This position is in Washington, DC. or Middletown, MD. Once fully trained, some telework will be offered.
The Sys Admin Manager will be the primary point of contact for Sys Admin tasks related to the FAA multi-domain Windows Active Directory infrastructure, including provisioning servers and client PCs, managing patching solutions, website monitoring, backups, security scanning, reporting and remediation. The Manager will be expected to delegate tasks to the team in a timely and efficient manner and provide hands-on execution of Sys Admin tasks as well.
- Manage the Sys Admin workload to ensure customer expectations are met
- Guide and mentor the Sys Admin team to strengthen and expand their skills
- Coordinate the deployment of software installations, patches, and updates
- Provide O&M for the virtualized environments (VMware vCenter 8.x)
- Provision hardware, storage, resources and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services
- Provide configuration management to include authoring technical documentation, process changes, and inventory control
- Perform O&M of Microsoft Windows applications including but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, SQL Server, IIS and Microsoft clustering
- Research and obtain quotes for hardware/software based on customer requirements
- Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment
- Identify, test and apply system hardening as directed by DISA STIGS and/or other guidelines specific to product or environment
- Manage virtual separate environments for development, testing, staging, and production in a DevSecOps, Blue/Green approach
- Develop and execute automated processes to deploy virtual servers and applications/containers/systems, apply patches to hardened base server image(s), and perform automated testing in an on-premise environment.
Salary: $130K to $150K
This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 15 years of experience
- 8 additional years of relevant years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- 3 years of leadership experience in an IT environment
- Able to receive a Public Trust clearance, at a minimum
- Knowledge of:- Basic networking technologies (switches, routers, VLANs).- MS Windows Server 2022/2019/2016 (focus on Active Directory, Group Policy)- CHEF or similar server building tool· Experience with: - Windows Administration- Managing a network using DevSecOps- RAIDs, SANs, High Availability, Backups and Disaster Recovery.- Security hardening of operating systems in a standalone environment as well as through GPOs- VMware Administration- VMWare Scripting- PowerShell- Container technology- Azure DevOPS (on-premise)- SQL Server- Storage engineer/administrator (NetApp, etc.)- Operate and maintain F5 Load Balancers

- DoD 8570 Baseline Certification, IAT Level II
