Position Overview
Shape the Future of Aviation! This is an exciting and challenging position to develop new concepts in Air Traffic Management (ATM) and design improvements to the National Airspace System (NAS) to ensure more efficient flights, integrate new entrants (e.g. UAS, AAM, Commercial Space, etc.), and more for the FAA's NextGen program.
Concepts Beyond provides Systems Engineering and Aviation expertise to develop advanced Air Traffic Management concepts; develops cybersecurity solutions for zero trust & confidential computing; Develops AI / ML and cloud computing tools for Aviation Safety & Data Analytics.
Essential Functions
- Apply technical knowledge of the NAS to develop new NextGen ATM concepts to improve safety, efficiency, and integrate new entrants into the NAS (e.g. UAS, AAM, commercial space, etc.).
- Develop Concepts of Operations (ConOps), use cases, architecture documents detailing technical concepts
- Apply systems engineering principles to conduct tradeoff studies analyze; assess technical and non-technical issues, goals, and objectives; and engineer new ideas and concepts.
- Coordinate with FAA project management to understand FAA goals and objectives, develop strategies, roadmaps, timelines, deliverables for achieving them, and prepare briefings and documents to provide recommendations.
- Lead project activities, including scope, schedule, deliverables, issues identification & mitigation.
