Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure design engineer with over 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing virtualized environments using VMware, Citrix, Nutanix, and Windows Server technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization technologies and a proven track record of delivering robust and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation:
- Design Windows Server solutions to meet business requirements.
- Design virtualization platform services using VMware and Nutanix.
- Design and implement Citrix Cloud (including Citrix App and Desktop Virtualization platforms),
- Develop and maintain detailed design and implementation documentation.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities for virtualized environments.
- Provide/lead the engineering assistance for the hardware refresh projects for various datacenter technologies (Windows Servers/VMWare/Nutanix)
- Prepare documentation for regular updates, patches, and upgrades to VMware, Citrix, Nutanix, and Windows Server systems.
- Identify opportunities for optimization and automation within the virtualized environment.
- Design automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and work with tools (PowerCLI, vRealize Orchestrator, etc.) to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and address their virtualization needs.
Provide technical support and guidance to other IT teams and end-users.
Participate in and respond to critical incidents as needed.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security best practices for virtualized environments.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits. Required Experience and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of Citrix cloud technologies and best practices.
- Solid understanding of converged and 3-Tier storage
- Strong knowledge of various storage platforms (NetApp, Hitachi, Infinidat, Oracle ZFS, Cloud Storage)
- General knowledge of Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Linux operating system as general
- Strong knowledge of various computer hardware platforms (Dell is preferred)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and issue resolution while provided RCA
- Strong knowledge of network configurations, TCP/IP, iSCSI and kernel configurations
- Strong knowledge of performance analysis and tuning
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server security hardening process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, CCA, NCP, MCSA) are a plus.
