Description:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for hotel facilities maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, lobby guest areas of the hotel and mechanical spaces; perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical and kitchen equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues quickly is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub.
- Perform plumbing repair or preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
- Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
- Maintain tools and maintenance equipment properly
- Maintain accurate logs and records as required and ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards are followed.
- The hotel is set with functional equipment for all seasons and assists with upcoming storms. Assist in maintaining the grounds (i.e. snow removal, keeping common pass-throughs neat and clear for our guests and employees.
- Participate in safety/security training and maintain knowledge of all safety procedures, including life safety, emergency/fire evacuation, and other protocols to ensure a safe and security environment.
- Actively participate in ongoing training by utilizing the company Myagi platform.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of building maintenance experience recommended, with hotel experience preferred.
- Ability to use power tools safely
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Value and follow through on attention to detail
- Possess good math skills
- Resourcefulness to stay organized and independently on task
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift as well as push, pull, lift, carry moderate weight
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
