Job Description: Staff Accountant / Senior Staff Accountant
Reports to: Director of Accounting
Overview:
As the Staff Accountant/Senior Staff Accountant (role/title flexibility, based on experience), you will support the accounting and administrative functions in healthcare accounting. This role will have high exposure to the CFO, with significant opportunity for professional growth & development.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and allocate expenses across accounts.
- Manage accounting operations in a multi-subsidiary, multi-state environment.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable functions, maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships.
- Drive continuous process improvement by creating efficiencies and enhancing current workflows through technology and automation.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, independently identifying solutions to complex issues.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain financial records and reports for internal use and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with external auditors and assist with tax compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Act as a financial liaison to multiple departments, understanding and addressing their business needs.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting and/or audit
- Healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience with multiple state entities preferred, but not required.
- Proficient knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient knowledge of Excel
- Adaptable to dynamic and improved operations.
- Strong attention to detail & analytical thought process.
- Continuous demonstration of curiosity and learning.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, verbal & written skills.
- Experience with ERP systems - NetSuite preferred, but not required.
