GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Reimbursement works under the direction of the (CFO) Chief Financial Officer. The Director of Reimbursement will coordinate and maintain the process for credentialing and enrollment of all providers as required by commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid and oversee denied claims with the MCO’s and private insurance. This position will oversee third-party billings and payment collections. Strong managerial, leadership, and business office skills, including critical thinking. Supervisor over billing, billing revenue, patient accounts & consumer benefits.
OTHER FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
The Director of Reimbursement will manage all aspects of the medical billing and credentialing area under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. Major responsibilities will include directing and coordinating the overall functions of medical billing and the credentialing of contractors and employees. The Director of Reimbursement will have the sole responsibility of maintaining MHMR Concho Valley’s records and compliance regarding the credentialing and network participation of employed and contracted providers with Medicaid and Medicare, Medicaid Managed Care organizations, commercial insurance plans. The Director of Reimbursement will be responsible for assuring MHMRCV providers are initially enrolled and re-enrolled/revalidation with Medicaid and Medicare. The Director of Reimbursement will create, maintain, and update provider profiles within the credentialing software database and ensure primary source verification is complete for licensed providers.
This position will also be responsible for directing and coordinating the overall functions of medical billing to ensure maximization of accounts receivables. This includes overseeing third-party billings and payment collections, reviewing discrepancies and non-payment issues and working with billing staff on rejected or denied claims. A great focus will be on revenue cycle management. Additional duties include assisting with cost reporting financial reporting.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Background with accounting/financial reporting is recommended
- Mid-to-upper-level expertise in Electric Health Record (EHR) systems and experience in managing or supervision.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience with medical insurance, healthcare billing, and collections in a medical practice or health system
- Understanding of medical billing rules and regulations
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory or management experience
- Some combination of education and experience may be considered
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Texas Driver License required.
- Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Must be insurable on the Center’s insurance.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to complete all MHMR Concho Valley training.
SHIFT:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m.
