Position Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position will be the HR and Safety hub for Conco’s Field Operations department. The HRBP is responsible for aligning business needs and strategic priorities to ensure excellent execution of talent management, i.e., employee relations, employee development, retention efforts, and engaging Field Operations’ management and employees. The HRBP will partner with the HR Coordinator to ensure the staffing needs of the department are being met in a timely manner. The HRBP delivers value-added HR services to management and employees that reflect Conco’s Culture and Values. The HRBP maintains an in-depth understanding of Conco’s self-performing trades (earthwork, concrete, masonry, ironwork, carpentry, drywall and pre-engineered metal buildings) in order to better understand our safety risks, and the current and future departmental talent management needs. The HRBP will assist Conco with development, publishing, and training of safety and health programs consistent with regulations and company policy.
Key Responsibilities
HRBP
· Create a regular and positive presence at our various job sites to promote the Conco Culture and Values, building relationships with field management and employees, and addressing concerns
· Support, monitor, and enhance the Conco Culture and Values to ensure a positive employee experience for the Field Operations’ employees
· Provide day-to-day talent management guidance (coaching, counseling, career development, corrective action) for management and employees of the Field Operations Department
· Manages special events for the Field Operations employees
· Coach and counsel employees and management in the interpretation and application of HR and organizational policies and procedures, assuring fairness and consistency
· Partner with Field Operations Leaders and Talent Acquisition Specialist to determine current and future staffing needs
· Participate in new employee orientation, employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a consistent and positive experience
· Schedule and conduct regular employee satisfaction surveys, including new hire 90-day surveys
· Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations of employee relations concerns
· Serve as lead in coordinating Field Operations’ employee training and development programs
· Perform HR reporting, data analysis, preparation for leadership meetings, support of employee relations activities, special projects, and other developmental activities.
· Manages unemployment claims and appeals
· Leverage reporting tools to keep key leaders informed of various talent management efforts in conjunction with strategic business priorities and Conco’s Culture and Values
· Provide clear, honest, and open communication with Field Operations management and employees
· Maintain accurate and well-organized documentation on all talent management matters
· Other duties as assigned
Safety Administrator
· Develop working relationships with project managers, superintendents, and key subcontractors
· Partner with project managers and superintendents in identifying overall risk and exposures in Conco’s construction portfolio
· Manage workers’ comp incidents and case management
· Standards compliance
· Manage all training mandates and ensure 100% compliance
· Perform incident investigation and corrective action with the ability to develop preventive safety measures and programs to prevent recurrence
· Manage standardized PPE issuance and regular review for compliance
· Administer new hire safety training at orientation and schedule and conduct 90-day safety reorientation
· Manage safety policies, creation and review
· Facilitate annual safety training
· Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
· Organize and coordinate emergency response
· Actively participate in Conco’s safety committee by providing leadership and guidance
· Ensure Conco is in compliance with all mandated 3rd party safety platforms including Avetta, PICS, ISN, etc.
· Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· 5 years in a strong HR generalist position or similar role
· 5 years’ experience in a safety or construction management role
· OSHA 30 certification
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to travel up to 25%
· Experience in the construction industry preferred
· Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Working Conditions
· Office environment job site visits
· Work is primarily performed Monday through Friday with a consistent schedule; but may work some unusual hours as needed for travel and to assist with events
Physical Requirements
· Mostly sedentary, sitting at a desk within an office environment or driving a vehicle. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, view a PC monitor, talk, and hear. Required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel.
· May at times lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
