Assistant Director of Athletics
The Assistant Director of Athletics is a full-time, ten-month position reporting directly to the Director of Athletics. The Assistant Director is responsible for partnering with the Athletics Director in managing the day-to-day details of the athletic program and oversees the department in the AD’s absence and as needed. This is a 1.0 FTE position running from the third week of August to the second week of June.
The Assistant Athletic Director works in collaboration with a six-person team and serves as a key point of contact for students, coaches, vendors, and officials, and is responsible for updating athletic rosters, coordinating transportation, securing and working with officials, and working with communications to load and manage the game schedule/results each season.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Participates in the development and execution of department strategic goals and initiatives;
- Loads game schedule and results onto the school website.
- Assists the Athletics Director in cultivating, interviewing, and evaluating coaches;
- Confirms schedules with opposing schools regarding athletic contests, including seasonal contracts;
- Compiles and distributes athletic team rosters;
- Oversees budgets for food, transportation, and officials;
- Secures and schedules game officials
- Coordinates team meals and travel and communicates early release announcements. Organizes and secures transportation for all games/ practices.
