POSITION : Admissions / Marketing Director
SUPERVISOR : Facility Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS :
1. College graduate with concentration in marketing, social services, or nursing.
2. Course work or experience with medical terminology.
3. Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
1. Collects and compiles all data required for the inquiry process and presents to management for review and approval.
2. Coordinates the admission process.
3. Presents and explains clearly all-appropriate forms to the responsible party and / or the resident for signatures.
4. Provides facility tours.
5. Maintains a working relationship with and remains in constant contact with hospital discharge planners, state agencies and other sources of referrals.
6. Promotes dignity and respects the confidentiality of resident information during all transactions.
7. Serves as resource person for family members, applicants, community and other responsible parties.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES :
1. Verifies source data before admission including, but not limited to, VA / Medicare / Medicaid eligibility requests, and managed care / insurance pre-certification.
2. Compiles and maintains a supply of admission packets.
3. Performs marketing functions, as necessary, to project a positive image of the facility, the services and the staff.
4. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Administrator and the Director of Nursing.
5. Handles light clerical duties.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
1. Repetitive fine manipulation.
2. Frequently grasping.
3. Occasionally pushing and pulling.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES :
Regular duties do not involve exposure to blood or body fluids. However, exposure is possible in emergency situations. There may also be exposure to air contaminants (including tobacco smoke), and chemicals (including irritants) which require special handling. Attendance is mandatory at initial and periodic in-services provided by the facility regarding the prevention and control of such exposures.
