What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Concord Care Center of Sandusky?
POSITION: Dietary Aide
SUPERVISOR: Dietary Services Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Ability to read and understand applicable dietary documents and emergency procedures.
3. Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepares tray line and sets up for food/meal service while maintaining residents’ therapeutic diets prescribed by the attending physician.
2. Performs dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation duties.
3. Serves prepared food to residents in dining room maintaining infection control principles.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
1. Assists in food storage.
2. Assists in food preparation and production.
3. Uses required kitchen equipment.
4. Provides substitutes to residents as requested and with the approval of the dietary supervisor.
5. Disposes of garbage and refuse.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
2. Frequent bending, leaning, squatting, and reaching.
3. Frequent pushing and pulling up to 30 pounds.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES: Regular duties do not involve exposure to blood or body fluids. However, exposure is possible in emergency situations. There may also be exposure to air contaminants (including tobacco smoke), and chemicals (including irritants) which require special handling. Attendance is mandatory at initial and periodic in-services provided by the facility regarding the prevention and control of such exposures.
