JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Music
TYPE OF POSITION: Certified
REPORTS TO: Director of Music, High School Principal
Concord Community Schools is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Band Director to join our team, be a positive influence for creativity and growth, and continue the legacy of musical and performance excellence. This dedicated team player will actively support activities within the band program while also engaging and building relationships with students, parents, school administration and community members.
POSITION: Assistant Director of Bands grades 6-12.
Primary Responsibilities:1. Co-Director for Beginning Band 2. Director and/or Assistant Director for Junior High Bands
3. Team teach at the high school level, including marching band and concert band(s)
4. Directs the high school pep band
In addition:1. Would help schedule, plan, and participate in rehearsals, concerts, contests or other performance opportunities for assigned ensemble(s).2. Select, or help select appropriate music for ensembles.
3. Maintain school equipment when appropriate.
4. Helps to promote the program within the school and community.
5. Other duties assigned by the Director of Music.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Appropriate certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education.
2. Excellent pedagogical skills in both brass and woodwind instruments.
3. Ability to plan and organize.
4. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of students and parents.
5. Commitment to promoting student growth, equity, and inclusion in the arts.
6. Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board.
MARCHING BAND:Although not required, competitive marching band experience is preferred.
