The Granite YMCA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Youth Swim Coach to join our swim team at the YMCA Concord location. Position Overview:
The Youth Swim Coach will support swimmers’ skill development, teamwork, and personal growth. Coaches will implement practices for a variety of skill levels, ranging from beginners just starting in competitive swimming to experienced swimmers preparing for regional and state-level meets. Enthusiastic and reliable coaches will help create a fun and challenging environment that motivates swimmers to achieve their best while building confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate regular swim practices for youth swimmers, with varying abilities and experience levels
- Coach swimmers with personalized feedback to develop their technique, stamina, and competitive skills
- Assist with practice and meet setup, ensuring a safe and organized environment
- Support and attend swim meets, contributing to positive team experiences
- Help determine swimmers’ events for meet entries, based on their strengths and goals
- Maintain a positive and encouraging environment that promotes a love of swimming and healthy competition
Position Specifics:
- Practice Schedule: Evening practices during the school year, some morning practices outside of school year, weekend swim meets and some travel
- Pay: $14.50 - $16 per hour, depending on experience
