Summary
Under the supervision of the department food service production manager, the cook is responsible for the preparation of covering varied food shifts including room service, cafeteria, day care, etc. Prepares and cooks food for assigned area of responsibility ensuring high standards of quality food and presentation. Consistently follows standardized recipes and procedures. Clears modifications with the production manager. Maintains and follows department and sanitary guidelines.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification, Registration & Licensure
None required.
Experience
Minimum of one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Culinary certification desired.

- Produces high volume/bulk cooking for designated areas. (Includes cafeteria and catering functions.)
- Produces Ala Carte, short order, and room service style cooking for designated areas.
- Completes sanitation and housekeeping activities.
- Utilizes departmental equipment operations.
- Adheres to all hospital, department and regulatory policies and procedures including Hazard Analysis
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Actively attends departmental meetings.
