As the Business Affairs Administration Manager, you'll be responsible for Recorded Music Business Affairs Administration support to assigned frontline labels and catalog division, and assist other departments, divisions and teams as required. Works under general supervision.
Responsibilities
What you'll do:
- Manage and maintain recording artist contract summaries and tracking all aspects of release information by label imprint
- Manage incoming requests from other departments by label imprint
- Maintain option chart and facilitate option pick ups as directed
- Draft standard agreements (including, but not limited to, in-bound master use licenses, outbound lease outs, remixer, video, artwork and photography agreements, contests and sweepstakes, no objections) and other recorded music related and third-party clearances
- Draft inbound label waiver requests for guest artists and outbound waivers of exclusivity for on-label recording artists
- Facilitate live performance clearances, and other artist live artist appearances including festivals and public radio appearances
- Review label copy, artwork, and legal lines for all releases
- Handle incoming inquiries and research, advise and liaise with other departments concerning rights and other recorded music contractual matters
- Maintain deadlines of license terms and issue takedowns and termination notices
- File copyright registrations, assignments and other recordations
- Assist with general Business Affairs Administration Recorded Music matters and specific assignments as directed
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the music industry within the business and legal affairs department at a record label or at a law firm
- Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience is preferred
- Self-starter, who has the desire to be proactive, take initiative and be resourceful
- Must have superb accuracy, be extremely detail-oriented, complete tasks in accordance with instructions and possess strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced, team environment and handle a heavy volume of work
- Ability to handle and safeguard highly confidential, sensitive or proprietary information
*This job is hybrid- requiring 3 days a week minimum on site.
