The Concord University Child Development Center is accepting resumes for a full-time center director. The director is responsible for managing the daily operation of the center. In addition, the Center Director is responsible for maintaining control of the administrative, operational, financial, and logistical functions of the facility.
This director position requires an extensive knowledge of childcare management and early education. We are seeking individuals who are interested in helping the center provide top-quality safe childcare, while also providing opportunities to engage in developmentally appropriate curriculum in order to provide a rich and engaging learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
Provide leadership for the overall management and administration of the center. Including but not limited to:
- Recruit and train quality staff to meet licensing regulations. Oversee weekly staff scheduling. Collaborate with the Assistant Director on the evaluation of staff performance and necessary actions. Conduct monthly staff meetings
- Supervise and train the Assistant Director, overseeing all duties of the position
- Recruit and provide training and supervision for volunteers.
- Oversee the tracking and scheduling of staff training requirements to ensure constant compliance with necessary trainings required by state licensure
- Develop and maintain strong communication with parents and staff
- Recognize parental concerns, evaluate the proper course of action and respond professionally
- Provide administration and evaluation of all program components.
- Supervise development and implementation of curriculum in each classroom
- Problem solve and address all issues as they arise within the center
- Maintain compliance with all licensing rules, state and federal laws
- Establish and maintain communications linkages with appropriate personnel on campus, in county and state agencies, collaborating individuals, and with support groups.
- Produce reports as required by Concord University, Concord University Research and Development Corporation, DHHR, and the Advisory Board.
- Serve as a liaison between the Concord Child Development Center and Concord University Research and Development Corporation to ensure quality childcare services.

Provide fiscal management for the center including but not limited to:
- Authorize the collection of parent fees, ensuring the deposits are provided to the Research Corp business office regularly.
- Provide records including parent contracts, Mountain Heart billing, food program billing to the Research Corp business office promptly to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Expend funds to purchase all necessary materials and supplies for the center.
- Maintain accurate records.

Minimum Education
Associate's
Required Licenses/Certification
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience or Twenty-eight (28) college credits with at least nine (9) credit hours in early childhood development.
- A registered Apprenticeship Certificate for Child Development Specialist.
- At least twenty one (21) years of age
- Valid Driver’s license
- CPR and First Aid certified. (can be provided if needed)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Business, Management or Administration (with early childhood development coursework) or Bachelor’s or Associates degree in a related field (with coursework and experience to meet licensure requirements)
- Demonstrated professional skills in the area of curriculum planning, in-service training, program goal setting, lesson planning and assessment procedures for evaluating the progress of individual children
