What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Global Royalties position at Concord?

As the Director, Global Royalties, you'll be responsible for overseeing the outgoing royalty functions of the Global Royalties department from Concord’s Publishing Royalty system, currently Vistex iMaestro.
What you'll do: Manage all outgoing royalty obligations on a quarterly basis. Liaise with internal departments and external clients where required to ensure timely and accurate royalty accounting and payment.
Outline of Specific Functions:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Global Royalties team focusing on outgoing royalties.
- Act as the main point of contact for Global Royalties for external audit requests.
- Liaise with the Finance department regarding monthly transaction input and client payments.
- Support the Finance department with ongoing reconciliation between Global Royalties and Finance core systems.
- Assist the Copyright and Legal departments regarding questions on song and client setup.
- Work directly with the Client Services team to support client inquiry resolution.
- Log and maintain records of payments, transactions, adjustments and client-related matters for visibility and audit.
- Implement KPIs, report on performance metrics and ensure the Global Royalties team is hitting agreed upon targets.
- Process financial adjustments and out-of-cycle payments, liaising with Finance to ensure full documentation and reconciliation.
- Lead and participate in regular cross-departmental meetings to collaborate on challenges and issues, developing new processes and workflows.
- Assist with IT initiatives, providing business requirements to assist with product development and delivery for wider business adoption.
- Contribute to company-wide system improvement and upgrade projects.
- Communicate and work with third party technology providers and support services to remedy technical errors and implement system changes.
- Lead hiring efforts and conduct bi-annual staff reviews.
- Train Global Royalties staff members on new and existing procedures.
- Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in music business, accounting or other relevant discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years’ experience working in music publishing royalties in a senior capacity, handling high turnover of royalty transactions and statements.
- Strong management skills with a proven track record of leading a successful, dynamic business unit.
- Extensive Music Publishing Royalty system experience. Music Maestro, iMaestro or AS400 preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills required.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other database visualization tools required.
- Highly organized and detail-orientated with excellent numerical skills.
- Results-driven, with the ability to handle hard deadlines in a thoughtful manner.
- Analytically minded, constantly striving for efficiency and process improvement.
- Openness to new ideas and practices, meeting challenges with enthusiasm and proactiveness.
*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
