Job Summary/Basic Function
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clean and sanitary dinnerware for use by Dining Service customers as well as clean and sanitary food preparation equipment.
Ensure that dishes, silverware, pans and other foodservice equipment are properly cleaned and returned to the serving line or storage areas as soon as possible.
Maintain supplies such as soap, rinse agent, etc and make sure the supplies are readily available.
Make sure that instructions are followed on how to run the dishwasher and other equipment correctly and follow all safety practices.
Ensure a safe and clean dish room, adhering to standards of sanitation and safety as established by local, state, and federal health officials.
Work with the Student Managers to make sure that all student, on-call and temporary employees are on duty and have clear direction.
Report any breakdowns to the Residential Dining Manager or Manager on Duty.
Work with student employees, co-workers, and management in service to our customers and assist with student employee recruitment and retention.

Minimum Qualifications
Take ServSafe course and pass exam or internal food safety exam withing first year of employment.

High school diploma or GED; 3 – 6 months of related experience
