Job Summary/Basic Function
Support the mission of Concordia Language Villages by maintaining the grounds and equipment in neat and attractive condition.
Maintain grounds areas as assigned:
Maintain grounds areas as assigned:
- Lawns, flowers and garden beds, trees, shrubs
- Seeding and patching
- Fertilizing
- Leaf and debris removal
- Mowing
Preparation and maintenance of flower beds:
- Tree trimming and removal
- Insect and disease control
- Equipment operation
Roads, Parking Lots, and Trails:
- Asphalt care and patching
- Grading
- Sign maintenance
- Ski trail maintenance
- Maintenance of boundary lines
Equipment Maintenance — Grounds Equipment and Motor Pool.
- Perform routine equipment condition checks as the equipment operator’s responsibility
- General equipment and vehicle maintenance
- Minor mechanical repairs and parts replacement
- Equipment cleaning and painting
- Proper storage of tools and equipment
- Record keeping and parts inventory
- Welding and metal fabrication
Utility Crew Schedule & Garbage Hauling:
- Deliveries of Facilities materials (includes wood for wood furnaces)
- Moving and hauling of facility furnishings
- Special program set-up
- Garbage removal
- Care of garbage buildings
Beach and Waterfront:
- Install and maintain
- Boats, motors
- Beach recreation areas
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- MN driver’s license
- insurable driver’s license pursuant to Concordia’s policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating mowers, snowplows, chainsaws
- Gardening experience
