Essential Job Functions:
- Educational development of each student
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
- Initiates, designs and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school.
- Informs the superintendent of school’s activities and problems.
- Makes recommendations concerning the school’s administration and instruction.
- Maintains active relationship with parents and students.
- Budgets school time to provide efficient conduct of school instruction and management.
- Leads in the development and monitoring of the instructional program.
- Schedules classes to meet student needs.
- Supervises the guidance program to enhance student education and development.
- Serves as ex-officio member of school committees.
- Provides for necessary supervision of activities and programs.
- Assists in the planning and evaluation of the school’s extracurricular programs.
- Staff Supervision: Educational & Policy
- Maintains membership in appropriate professional organizations.
- Supervises professional, paraprofessional, administrative and support staff.
- Assists in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning and evaluation of school’s professional and support staff.
- Plans for the evaluation of performance for all staff members.
- Assists in the in-service and orientation and training of teachers.
- Arranges parent-teacher conferences when needed.
- Leads in the development of the school’s mission and goals.
- Demonstrates effective communication and human relation skills.
- Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Participates in administrative meetings, board meetings and other appropriate meetings.
- Day to day operations of the building
- Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline policy as necessary, according to due process rights of students.
- Attends school sponsored activities, functions and events.
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on progress and attendance of students.
- Assumes the responsibility for the attendance, conduct and maintenance of the health of students.
- Assists in the management and preparation of the school budget.
- Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists and all other paperwork required.
- Assumes the responsibility of the implementation and the observance of all board policies and regulations by staff and students.
- Complies with good safety practices.
- Complies with all district rules, regulations and policies.
- Supervises the maintenance of building records and reports.
- Works with various members of the administration on district problems.

- Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
- Supervises the daily use of the facility for both academic and non-academic purposes.
- Assists in planning and supervision of fire, storm, earthquake, intruder, and any other drills necessary in accordance with the district emergency preparedness program.
- Provides for adequate inventories of school supplies, school property and for the security and accountability of that property.
- Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Complies with all rules, regulations and policies.
Term of Employment: |
Eleven month employment Renewal at the February board meeting. Compensation and Benefits determined annually by the Board of Education. |
Evaluation: |
The evaluation is conducted by the superintendent according to board policies and the Concordia R-II adopted model of the performance based evaluation. |
