The Director of Operations plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of our organization, ensuring that all processes align with our strategic goals. This leadership position requires a dynamic individual who can manage multiple projects, drive process improvements, and foster business development initiatives.
The Director of Operations is a key school leader, functioning at the direction and under the supervision of the Head of School and shall participate as a member of the School Leadership team. The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all activities of campus facility functions, internal systems and logistics, master planning, grounds structure maintenance, information technology, campus safety, related vendor relations, risk management, capital expenditures, and internal event and external lease management.
Responsibilities
● Directs and supports the maintenance/facilities team in the maintenance, custodial, site repair, and upgrade effort to create and maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing learning environment.
● Directs and supports IT personnel in the oversight of the network infrastructure, maintenance/upgrades, security, hardware and software management, contracts, and effective policy based utilization.
● Prepares short and long-term capital expenditure and improvement plans and executes approved plans.
● Reviews and approves all facilities related expenditures, working closely with the Director of Finance to ensure budget and strategy alignment.
● Manages specific maintenance and utility accounts to ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
● Coordinates with outside vendors, custodial needed, and trades for various services related to the school facilities.
● Manages school's fleet of vehicles and transportation expenses.
● Leads the school through Master Planning activities ensuring the plan is accurate and up to date at all times.
● Manages City and other role related governmental relationships.
● Leads the school's energy management program.
● Oversees the school's security systems, key/badge access, automated door locks, and camera systems.
● Maintains contracts and relationships with all outside facilities leases.
● Directs processes and efforts that track grounds operations, equipment inventory, and the articulation of event operations logistics.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts, Science, or Education, Business or mechanical or construction-related field preferred
- Masters degree preferred.
- LCMS trained preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities, demonstrating the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Experience in business development, with a focus on strategic planning and execution.
- Excellent negotiation skills, capable of managing complex discussions with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
