Position Summary
The Driver is responsible for providing resident transportation to and from medical appointments, other appointments, activities, and shopping trips.
Qualifications:
Caring and compassionate
Displays a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents
High school graduate or GED equivalent
CDL
Valid PA Driver’s License
Must have a good driving record
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Schedules medical appointments for residents allowing for transport of more than one resident at a time, and communicates appointment time to resident and nursing staff
Safely transports residents to and from their appointment or activity in a timely manner by assisting residents on and off the vehicle, obeying all traffic laws, and utilizing all safety devices i.e. seatbelts
Ensures that the vehicle is in proper working condition, all routine maintenance is complete, any problem areas are reported to the maintenance department, and vehicle is kept clean inside and out
Reports immediately any accidents, driving mishaps, resident falls/injuries, or driving violations to the Director of Retirement Services
Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation
Commits to high ethical standards and complies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and Concordia policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee records and information. Has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
