Position SummaryConcordia of Fox Chapel has an immediate need to fill Part-Time Nursing Assistant positions. The Nursing Assistant (Care Manager) assists the licensed nursing staff by providing resident assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Qualifications:Caring, compassionate, and understandingHave a high school diploma, GED diploma or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry18 years of age or olderBe free from a medical condition, including drug or alcohol addiction that would limit the staff person from providing necessary personal care services with reasonable skill and safety Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including eating and drinking, ambulating, transferring, toileting, bladder and bowel management, personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, turning and positioning. 2. Upon completion of DPW-approved medication competency training, may assist with self-administration of medications. 3. Assists residents with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) including changing linens, doing laundry, shopping, securing and using transportation, using a telephone, making and keeping appointments, caring for personal possessions, writing correspondence, transporting to and engaging in social and leisure activities, using a prosthetic device, obtaining and keeping clean, seasonal clothing, and keeping a safe, neat, clean room. 4. Gives treatments accurately and timely per the ADL/treatment book. May assist with temperatures, specimen collection, and intake/output measurement. 5. Answers call bells and responds to resident needs promptly. 6. Communicates resident observations and findings to the Charge Nurse. 7. Documents care, treatments provided, and other information as required by regulations and policies/procedures. 8. Prevents physical, psychological, and/or verbal abuse as well as financial exploitation of the residents. Protects the resident from all abusive situations and immediately reports any signs of abuse. Employs healthy means for dealing with personal stress, which can be a trigger for abuse. 9. Prevents infections while providing care, including employing adequate hand-washing and adhering to all aspects of transmission-based precautions. Maintains personal health to prevent transmission of infections. 10. Commits to high ethical standards and complies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and Concordia policies & procedures. Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee records and information. Has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
